| Review Roundup: Eataly |
|
Adam Platt files on Eataly today and finds that while it has its flaws ("pasta snobs, wine geeks, and amateur cheese sniffers"), it also has some good food once who learn to navigate the chaotic scene. "But once you’ve acclimated yourself to this quirky environment, you’ll find all sorts of unexpected pleasures. Mario Batali, who along with partners Lidia and Joe Bastianich is the conspicuous New York face of the enterprise, prefers the phrase “food temple” to food hall, and that’s almost true."
Platt gives three stars to Eataly's main, meat-centric restaurant Manzo, two stars the vegetable eatery Le Verdure and the fish stand Il Pesce, and one star to the rest - La Pasta and La Pizza, La Piazza, and Pasticceria and Gelateria.
