AmericanLinks Restaurant and Lounge, located at the Diplomat Golf Resort & Spa in Hallandale, may just be Broward’s best-kept secret. Start with a cocktail, like the signature Zentini with green tea, vodka, ginger and lemongrass, or the Black Cherry Cosmopolitan. Then, move on to some must-have appetizers including the Dungeness Crab Cakes and Lobster Corn Dogs with “sauce three ways” (banana ketchup, Mexican cocktail and mango salsa). With everything from the Pasta du Jour, a unique pasta dish created by Executive Chef Tom Rhyneer, to twists on old favorites like the Buffalo Sloppy Joe or Truffle Mac ‘n Cheese, Links is soon to become everyone’s favorite dining get-away. Especially impressive are the seared scallops, cooked perfectly with a roasted potato corn broth. Seen at the South Beach Wine and Food Festival, they are succulent, fresh and practically melt in your mouth. For dessert, the Chocolate Lava Cake with a “baby milkshake” releases an explosion of melted chocolate, perfectly complemented by the shot-sized milkshake.
