Big and Bold the Atlanta Fish Market is
Reviewed on Sunday, 11 January 2009
Even if you lack a sense of direction, you can´t miss the thirty-foot copper fish that marks Atlanta Fish Market. The inside is spacious with its towering ceilings, massive booths made for large groups (who must all yell to be heard) and five television sets located in the adjoining Geechhe Crab lounge. Offering the largest selection of fresh seafood in the Southeast, Chef Robert Holley, who originally intended to be a marine biologist, changes the menu daily to incorporate the freshest ingredients available. For starters, AFM focuses on fresh shellfish including jumbo lump crab cakes, fried Maine Calamari and the lobster tail, delicately fried in a sauce of honey mustard and lemon. Or try one of the several combinations of mussels & fries or mussels & pasta. AFM´s menu is so extensive, that choosing an entrée seems daunting at first. The Hong Kong presentation with Atlantic Salmon (but you can chose whatever fish you want) is exceptional, but their true specialty is the Carolina Salmon Trout. Of course, the fish alone is outstanding, but any diner would be pleased with just the sides of whipped sweet potatoes and the macadamia honey nut butter (I wish they sold it separately). Don´t come here for a romantic evening. But if you are looking for that loud and fun atmosphere with delicious seafood and don´t mind a bit of a line, you have found the perfect destination.

Great Seafood
Reviewed on Thursday, 15 November 2007
Being a "Buckhead Life Group" restaurant one knows going in that it's going to be good. Lobster is great as are all their fish dishes. Huge dining room makes for lacking atmosphere but the food makes up for it. This is my favorite seafood restaurant.
