American,Seafood,SteakhouseAn upscale old school-style steak house with equally enticing seafood options. The atmosphere is intimate, yet good for groups and business meals. The wine list is one of the most lauded in the city.

This place blew me away. I thought it was going to be great, but didn't realize how great it would be.
I went with the intention of getting a large lobster, so I skipped the appetizers and would actually suggest they revamp the list a bit, having reviewed it and found noting to my interest.
I tried a spinach salad with warm bacon dressing first. I've never had a dressing like this and it was fantastic. The spinach was fresh and it was mixed in with ample mushrooms, egg, and bacon. The dressing was sweet and had a reminder of bacon that did not intrude on the other flavors.
For an entree I ordered a boiled three pound lobster. The meat was great. The claws were taken care of for me and it was served so as to spare me all of the cracking and pulling of meat. I accompanied this with parmesan truffle fries. I enjoyed them a ton and would recommend them, although there were some other very catchy sides.
I also tried my wife's filet and it was exceptional. She was extremely happy with it.
For dessert I had a flourless chocolate espresso cake. It was presented nicely with fresh raspberries and chocolate sauce. With this I had a Trimback Kirsch, or cherry brandy. It was colorless, poured generously, and went well with the dish.
The wine list was very long as well as the dessert drink offerings.
My wife did have to send her filet back. They did not get it right and accepted that fact very professionally, recovering with a new filet that was cooked absolutely perfect and she loved it. I can't wait to try a steak of my own next time, which they dry age in house.
The server delivered fully on steakhouse service expectations. He was excellent at everything he did and I would recommend him. He gave me his card. Ask for Billy Parisi.
