French Roast was such a pleasant surprise. I've heard complaints about everything from its lackluster service to its mediocre food. But our waiter was quite good-humored. And my entree was fabulous - creamy mashed potatoes, a generous helping of spinach, and a half-chicken so tender and juicy it could almost fall off the bone. All around $15 when such a dish could easily run over $20 at other more pretentious restaurants. Atmosphere was lovely too: dim, warm, and spacious. The only thing I'd harp about would be the small water glasses and the somewhat slow refills, but I'm nit-picking on an otherwise awesome experience.
