Introducing the new Dolce Vita, the first and only restaurant to feature both contemporary Italian and traditional Maltese fare in New York City. What is Maltese cuisine? Allow me to explain…

The food from Malta is typically Mediterranean, based on fresh seasonal locally available produce and seafood, with some influence from Italian cuisine, particularly Sicily and the south. What that translates to is:

Trio of Pastizzi (traditional Maltese cheese cakes filled with onion and ricotta…one with raisins, one with peas and pancetta);

Ftira (traditional Maltese pizza with thinly sliced potato, anchovy, tomato, capers,onion, garlic, Parmigiano);

Tiggia Mimilia Il-Forn (Maltese Stuffed Roasted Whole Chicken with Mom's special stuffing, over a bed of traditional Maltese rice)

I picked this restaurant based off of reviews it had on several websites, and they where Rite. Great food, sauces where tasty, pasta was fresh service was great. I dine out once in a while and its hard to find a combo of great food and service , but this place has it both and i'm picky. They also had and interesting menu MALTESE which I tried there Eggplant and that was very nice as well. The sangria was awesome as well. Try it out won't be sorry.

I ended up walking around little Italy which I don't often do due to tourist traps down there. I ended up eating at a small cozy place off of mulberry and grand. I made the best choice I could of and my girlfriend thougt the same. It was quite place, romantic and the food perfect. I had the pasta 3 cheese and you can tell it was fresh not out of a box . I had this Maltese pizza for an app, with capers potatos onions and the taste made your mouth melt. All I have to say is try the place out it was nice and quite dont be scared cause its slow means nothing . The drinks where awesome coctails where nice, I hear they are only open for six month. I will be back for there, $15 brunch next Sunday. Ohh service great as well .

First i would like to say that Suzanne who works at Dolce Vita provide the affectionate service that makes you want to come back for more she does everything from waiting table, bartending to ordering supplies, i have brought a few females there and they all where impressed with the resturant and a whole. I had the Rosotto with Shrimp and chocolate cake which was excellent! The next time i went back i simply had drinks and the 3rd time i went back was during the san Janero fieast (hope i spelled it right!!!) and no matter how busy the place was the staff, service and the food was on point, i watch suzanne and her staff make the evening enjoyable by simply talking to each and evey customer making sure their dining experience was a enjoyable one and most importantly she remembers my name everytime i return
