Mr. Ciao?

I love the concept and backstory of this restaurant: a Chinese-Italian fusion cafe in the East Village by a darling husband-wife team (he's Italian, she's Chinese). The Moo Goo Gai Panini was awesome -- and everything I've ever looked for in a true east-meets-west dish. Stir-fry medley of sweet, carmelized onions, yummy mushrooms, and oyster-sauce chicken fused in perfect harmony with a chewy, grilled, toasty panini. It made me forget that I was eating in the dead heat and humidity of July on their sidewalk (their AC inside needs a little work). The no-fuss menu also features pastas, dumplings/ravioli, and various buns, which looked pretty good, but the Moo Goo Gai Panini is what I'll remember and what will bring me back.
