Hands Down the Best Turkish Food in NYC
Reviewed on Thursday, 31 July 2008
This restaurant is absolutely the best Turkish food in the city. I order in from here at least once a week and dine-in every now and then too (it's BYO so makes for a great, inexpensive meal!). I have never had anything short of exceptional when I have eaten here, although I do have some favorites: the hummus (I think I could live off of it), phyllo cigars (filled with goat cheese or meat are both mouth watering), and the lamb and/or chicken yogurt kebob has the perfect balance of sweet and savory with a touch of spice. And for nights when I feel like being a little healthier, I highly recommend the grilled whole fish - I dont know how the chef does it, but every time it's cooked to perfection - moist but cooked through enough that the meat just falls off the bone. And for dessert, I go back and forth between the rice pudding, creme caramel and baklava. You can't go wrong with either pick!
