garlicky heaven

Approaching the undistinguished storefront, those unfamiliar with the name, may pass right by what I would label the city´s best Italian. The alluring notes of garlic that permeate the air give the nose a mere sample of what the taste buds are about to enjoy. The meal begins with complementary antipasti plates, hard salamis, fresh bruschetta, salty Parmesan, crisp garlic bread, and my personal favorite garlicky and spicy zucchini. I could dine on the zucchini every night, leaving behind the delicious buttery-textured veal picatta and al dente pastas. As I sampled my entire family´s meal at our last Il Mulino gather, I enjoyed every bite of each dish. With an over-expanded stomach, squeezing past the packed tables after the ambrosial meal is no easy feat.
