This is the place to go for a true New York pie. The pizza is extra cheesey with just the right amount of toppings so that you can still pick it up, fold it, and be completely satisfied. They have a ton of different topping combinations listed on the menu, but as the waiter told us, "We're a pizzeria--just tell me the toppings and we'll make you a pizza." If you've never been or if you're visiting from out of town, John's is a must!

I came here for: Casual meal

Mouth-watering pizza. It's hard to describe what made it so delicious, but the crust was the perfect consistency (not too thin and not too dough-y) and the proportion of cheese to tomato sauce was just right. The pies came out steaming hot, and as I waited for them to cool, the anticipation was killing me. But I was not disappointed. Being the hog that I am, I had two slices of each and badly wanted to go for a fifth, but decided I had to cut myself off. If you haven't been, you must go! The atmosphere is relaxed, the booths are cozy and the waiters are lively and friendly. Can't wait to bring my friends back for some late-night pizza and beer.

I don't think that i have ever had better pizza in my life. For a while i thought Lombardi's was the gold standard but after i ate at Johns that theory gets squashed. The crust is what makes the biggest difference, it needs to be hard enough to have a slight crunch but soft enough so it wont kill my teeth. Johns fit that then add on toppings that were the best I have ever had on a pizza and once again Johns hit another. The art on the walls added to the experience greatly. The only draw back is they don't sell them by the slice but at the same time that ain't so bad because it just means you have to indulge even more.

This is by far the best pizza in New York. The only complaint I can imagine is they don't do slices..but who cares! Get a whole pie! This is a local gem in NY that everyone should visit. Take out or Dine in, no delivery!

2nd in command of Lombardi's started his own pizza joint back in the early 1900's and it still stands today. I personally feel this is the top spot for a gourmet pie in NYC
