Disappointing Service
Reviewed on Thursday, 10 April 2008
I had very high expectations for Market Table and really wanted to love this place. If it wasn't for the extremely rushed service, I would give it 4 or 5 stars. We had an 8pm reservation and were out by 8:45 - after an appetizer, main course, and bottle of wine. We were rushed from start to finish - maybe because it was a Thursday night and they wanted to turn over the table, but its unacceptable, not to mention extremely disappointing. It's really too bad, because Market Table is a place you would want to stay and chill out for a leisurely meal. As for the food - it was excellent. Highlights were the crab cake, skate, and lamb shank. But with barely 5 minutes between each course, I couldn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to.

market fresh...of course

Market Table = fresh! The point of the restaurant is the market fresh specials. Just eat the special of the day with some hush puppies! No use in getting wine by the glass either...just get the whole bottle.
And, my all time favorite of course: everyone is super nice!!
Added bonus* if you really love the food you can buy the ingredients there and then make it yourself!
To make a casual night of it, ask the friendly host for directions to the nearby wine bar OR for some beer and/or a stiff martini go to Daddy-O?s down the street!
