I've grown up loving my grandma's homecooked Cuban food, so when I finally got the chance to go to Alma I was excited. In the end though, I left feeling disappointed. Yes, the gourmet food's not half bad and the atmosphere definitely has a nice old Havana feel, but it still wasn't REAL Cuban food. Real Cuban food doesn't cost this much or look this fancy...real Cuban food is good ol' fashioned rice and beans and all that in between. That beings sad, I'm obviously biased and most people I know love this place, so definitely give it a shot--just don't expect complete authenticty, which can only be found in North Jersey/NYC and Miami.
