Asian,Pan-Asian & Pacific RimThis original location of the famed Buddakan is one of the Philadelphia's hottest Pan-Asian fusion spots, boasting a myriad of modern Asian culinary choices saturated with exotic flavor. A 10 ft tall gilded Buddha oversees the production, while a communal table in the center of the restaurant is a great way to meet, mingle, and chat with other Asian cuisine lovers.

Fun Night Out in Philly
Reviewed on Monday, 14 April 2008
Buddakhan is a modern Asian restaurant that features an exciting atmosphere, a trendy interior, and an incredible menu. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Philadelphia! The place is always packed with a great crowd...be sure to request a table on the main dining floor close to the giant Buddha. Last time I was there I started with Miso Tuna Tartare and finished with the Pan Roasted Duck. Both were phenomenal. For dessert we ordered the sorbet and puffed sugar donuts, which came with a fun chocolate dipping sauce. Again, both of these offerings were delicious. Of course the restaurant is pricey, but the great food and vibrant atmosphere absolutely ease the "wallet-ache". I highly recommend this to anyone looking for an exciting night out in Philly.

The Original Bad Boy
Reviewed on Wednesday, 12 December 2007
Growing up, Buddakan was the ultimate go-to spot. It's pretty awesome in New York, but the original in Philadelphia is the best. Case in point: The Angry Lobster. This gargantuan dish features a 2lb lobster, brimming out of one of those edible Asian baskets full of mashed potatoes and sauteed vegetables topped with this crazy coconut curry sauce. I've tried most of the menu, everything is delicious, but this is the standout by far. I've tried to convince the NYC establishment to bring it North--and apparently so have many other diners--so let's hope.
